BIGBANG’s Seungri's Instagram Account Removed by Platform
Former Member's Account Deleted After Controversy
Account Removal Follows Investigation
Former BIGBANG member Seungri's Instagram account (@seungriseyo) has been removed by the platform. The account, which had over 809,000 followers, was deleted on Monday, March 8, 2023.
The removal of the account comes after Seungri was embroiled in a controversy involving allegations of illegal activities. In 2019, he was charged with multiple crimes, including solicitation of prostitution, gambling, and embezzlement. He was subsequently convicted and sentenced to three years in prison.
In a statement, Instagram said that the account was removed for violating the platform's policies on illegal activities. The statement said, "We do not allow accounts that are used to promote or facilitate illegal activities. We have removed this account for violating our policies."
Seungri's removal from Instagram is a significant development in the ongoing controversy surrounding the former BIGBANG member. It is unclear at this time whether he will create a new account or if he will permanently leave the platform.
